Transaction Types per Day

Daily time-series view of protocol revenue showing how revenue and transaction type revenue contribution evolve over time. The stacked area chart reveals daily patterns in protocol operations, compositional shifts between revenue sources, and potentially the impact of events (e.g. volatility) on treasury inflows.

Use Cases

This page helps you:

  • Identify growth periods: Track upward or downward trends in daily revenue and determine which transaction types drive changes
  • Analyze composition shifts: See which revenue sources are gaining or losing importance over time
  • Investigate revenue spikes: Hover over spikes to see which transaction types contributed to unusual patterns
  • Detect protocol impact: Validate expected outcomes from protocol changes, new features, or pool launches
  • Spot seasonal patterns: Identify cyclical or seasonal trends in protocol activity
  • Assess revenue stability: Evaluate whether revenue is consistent or volatile across different periods
  • Correlate with events: Link revenue patterns to external market events or protocol milestones (e.g. October 10th, 2025)

Stacked Area Chart Structure:

  • X-axis: Date (chronological)
  • Y-axis: Daily revenue in SOL
  • Stacked Areas: Each colored area represents a different transaction type
  • Total Height: The top edge shows total daily revenue across all transaction types

Grouping Modes:

Switch between different perspectives using the chart controls:

  • By Type (default): Track how transaction types (fees, liquidations, positions, etc.) evolve over time
  • By Token: See how different token inflows contribute to daily revenue
  • By Pool: Monitor which liquidity pools drive daily activity

What to Look For:

  • Spikes and anomalies: Sudden increases often indicate large liquidations or significant protocol events
  • Compositional shifts: Changes in the relative height of areas show evolving revenue sources
  • Trends: Upward or downward slopes reveal growth or decline patterns
  • Volatility: Fluctuation patterns indicate revenue stability or variability

Interactive Features:

  • Hover: See detailed breakdown for any day including exact SOL amounts per transaction type
  • Legend: Click legend items to show/hide specific transaction types

Data Sources

  • Treasury transactions: On-chain data from DefiTuna treasury PDA (G9XfJoY81n8A9bZKaJFhJYomRrcvFkuJ22em2g8rZuCh)
  • Classification system: Log-based transaction analysis with 100% attribution accuracy
  • Daily aggregation: Transactions grouped by UTC day

For complete pipeline details, see Data Pipeline.

Daily Revenue Calculation

Daily revenue is calculated using the revenue attribution system:

  1. Transaction classification: Each day's transactions are classified by type using log-based pattern matching
  2. Revenue grouping: Revenue is grouped by the selected dimension (type, token, or pool)
  3. Stacking calculation: Values are stacked to show composition while maintaining total visibility
  4. Token conversion: All SOL equivalents are calculated using same-day conversion rates from actual on-chain swaps

Time-Series Construction

  • UTC days: All transactions are grouped by UTC day for consistent timezone handling
  • Cumulative view: Each day shows the composition of that day's revenue
  • Gap handling: Days with zero revenue appear as gaps in the chart
  • Completeness: All revenue-generating transactions are included (100% attribution accuracy)

Grouping Mode Details

  • By Type: Shows transaction type composition (fees, liquidations, position management, etc.)
  • By Token: Shows which tokens contributed to revenue (SOL, USDC, JUP, TUNA, etc.)
  • By Pool: Shows which liquidity pools generated revenue (Orca Whirlpools, Fusion pools, Other)

Relationship to Other Views

This time-series view complements the aggregate breakdowns:

  • By Type: Shows cumulative totals by transaction type
  • By Token: Shows cumulative totals by token
  • By Pool: Shows cumulative totals by pool
  • Pools vs. Types: Shows cross-dimensional breakdown

The daily view adds temporal context, revealing how these totals accumulated over time and when specific patterns emerged.

Known Limitations

  • Chart shows realized revenue only (excludes unrealized gains from held positions)
  • Very small transaction types may not be visible in the stacked areas
  • Token conversion rates based on treasury swap prices (may differ from market mid-price by a few basis points)
